Title: IT Operations Support Analyst
Reports to: Director, Information Systems
Experience Level: 2-4 years of direct work experience
Position Summary:
The IT Operations Support Analyst provides end-user and computer hardware (PC), software (Windows XP, office 2003) and Smartphone support and troubleshooting for all personnel. This person is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the local area network hardware, as well as E-mail and firewall administration. This person will work with the IS Director on the implementation of new technologies. He/she will also play a role in coordinating field installations and upgrade initiatives. This would include assisting the IS Director in facilitating field activities such as upgrading systems with the latest versions of software, the rollout of new hardware and field training.
Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):
• Able to efficiently and effectively respond to end-user needs and concerns relating to computer business applications and general systems issues, troubleshooting technical issues for PC computers
• The IS analyst will orient technical resources working onsite, providing these vendors with all the information needed to assist in supporting the end-users.
• First line support for all software, hardware, Smartphones and PC security
• Identifies diagnosis, and resolves technical problems, problem escalation and solution tracking
• Day to day maintenance of network servers (backups, administration, hardware maintenance)
• Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills as an IS professional to train, instruct and educate groups and individuals in a team environment.
• Works with IS Director in designing technical systems and architecture
• Handles multiple project responsibilities simultaneously, to prioritize work and resolve technical emergencies as they may occur
In-depth technical and administrative understanding of the following is required:
• A+ certification level
• Knowledge level equal to that of a certified Comp TIA A+
• Must have MCDST level skills
• Experience with BlackBerry Enterprise Server
• Microsoft Office Specialist level
Other Requirements:
• Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem solving skills with a “can-do attitude”
• Ability to effectively cope with stressful situations
• Strong keyboarding skills, ability to lift and carry PC equipment weighing up to 50lbs, ability to kneel or bend
